Copper Nickel @ AWP DC

Copper Nickel will release its 15th issue at the 2011 AWP Conference in Washington DC.

From Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon, you can find us in the Bookfair at Booth #626, where we'll be offering some very tantalizing specials, including the first look at Copper Nickel 15.

On Friday night, we'll be hosting a release reading at the famed Black Cat at 1811 14th St NW at 7pm. The reading will include performances by Sandra Beasley, Kyle G. Dargan, Merrill Feitell, Anna Journey, David Keplinger, Michael Martone, and Wayne Miller. Doors open at 7pm, with the readings following at 7:20.

We're asking $10 at the door (suggested donation), which gets you in and puts a copy of the new issue in your hand. Current subscribers can get in for $5, and all contributors to Copper Nickel 15 are our guests.

The Black Cat is in the "U Street" district, near Howard University. By foot, this is about 25 minutes from the Conference area. A cab ride should take less than 10 minutes and be less than $10.

You can travel by Metro rail (subway) by taking the Red Line from the Woodley Park/Zoo stop (near the conference) one stop south to DuPont Circle, and exiting the station on Q Street. From the Q & Connecticut exit, cross toward Kramerbooks bookstore (a nice 24/7 pit stop, BTW) using Q Street all the way to 14th Street NW. Black Cat is just a few blocks up, heading from Q toward S Street. [Thanks, Sandra.]

Due to the large volume of submissions we now receive, we will close our submission manager to new unsolicited non-contest submissions this coming Friday, March 25th, at noon MDT. Announcing *COIN*, our new web reader
We've been talking about this for a while, but now it seems the coin is out of the purse—we've launched COIN, a web-based companion to Copper Nickel. COIN will feature some of our favorites from back issues, along with interviews, conversations, commentary—including book reviews—and, in the coming months, audio and…
Contest Update - NEW Submission Manager Link
With apologies for not signaling this clearly before, but contest submissions should be submitted through the Contest Submissions Manager, which is accessible at http://www.copper-nickel.org/contest/smgr/ We need to keep the contest entries separate from the normal submission stream so we can keep track of payments and communicate with entrants more effectively.…
